Why this Journal exists
GalileoEngine is an experimental browser platform derived from Servo. Galileo Browser is the desktop browser product being built on that foundation.
The project is still in the research stage. There is no public browser release yet, and we are not claiming that it is ready for everyday browsing. This Journal exists so progress can be evaluated from a clear public record instead of broad promises.
What we will publish
Future entries will separate:
- work completed from work still planned;
- focused test results from wider compatibility claims;
- Galileo-specific work from Servo's upstream engine work;
- prototypes from features that have passed a defined release gate.
Where relevant, an entry will name the evidence, test environment, known limits, and next gate. Roadmap changes, engineering decisions, compatibility work, and product milestones all belong here.

This is the first entry in the Galileo Journal and the standard we intend to keep for the entries that follow.
